Welcome to our school website. I hope that your visit is both informative and enjoyable.
I feel very privileged to be part of the team at Cedar Road Academy. It is a learning community that provides a very valuable and supportive environment for all stakeholders. We have a strong desire to constantly improve and put actions in place to do this at all times.
We are a successful over subscribed school situated near Abington Park in Northampton town. We have two classes of 30 pupils in each year group and the year group teams work very closely together to deliver a high standard of education, experience and enjoyment for every pupil. Our ethos is based around building core values of respect, integrity, care compassion, hope and responsibility throughout our school community, as well as ensuring that each pupil has the ambition to achieve as highly as he / she can.
There are many activities available to pupils. We offer a variety of clubs, some are seasonal, some take place all year; football, basketball, table tennis - one of our year 6 pupils is the county champion and he started at school! band, chess, tennis, cross country, gardening, sewing tuition in; percussion, recorders, woodwind, brass and string. We take part in lots of activities within the community; singing and performing for senior citizens, the local carnival, art displays in the local library and town centre . We participate in national initiatives such as Children in Need. We also welcome parents and friends in to work alongside their children often during the year. We have termly learning conferences, which are dialogues to set targets that are carried out between pupils, class teachers and parents. Pupils love these! We have regular trips and pupils take part in residential activity holidays in year 4 and year 6.
